Is the Pentagon being forced to endorse a double standard?

I guess so, but the intention of "Don't ask don't tell" was to keep people from trying to hook up while serving. If someone is "married" or for all intents and purposes, a spouse, it doesn't take much of an imagination to think of who they would be hooking up with.
